Last weekend we had the honor of photographing the wedding of Ilse and Matthew Dwyer. The ceremony took place at the Lookout Chapel in Golden, Colorado. The reception was just down the road at the Crystal Rose.
Matthew met Ilse in Holland. This made for a fun cross-cultral wedding. The bride wore clogs during part of the reception, and all the Holland guests teased the couple through song (a Holland wedding tradition, as I understand it).

Last weekend I had an opportunity to photography a really exciting game, Colorado College vrs. Kentucky. The score was close throughout the match, but in the end our home team came out on top!
Although I was rooting for Colorado College, Kentucky was a fun team to watch. They really knew how to launch themselves into the air. Not that it helped them in the end, but it did make for some exciting photography moments

Another incredibly memorable wedding, for two more incredibly kind people. This wedding took place at the chic Inverness Hotel in Denver, Colorado.
Ryan and I have photographed a lot of terrific weddings, but this was one of those that really stuck out of the crowd. It’s amazing what can be accomplished when you have a bride and groom who really have their act together. Every detail was perfection, but what most sticks out in my and Ryan’s mind is the reception. The bride and groom had 5 stations, each with a professional cook at work, each a different theme. The picture of the cook was taken at one of those stations. And just to be clear, all the food was delicious!
More importantly, Katie and Joseph are some of the nicest people you will meet. Certainly all their friends and family knew it – you could truly feel the love in the room.

But while I’m on the subject, please note the gorgeous topiary trees at the tables. These were a labor of love by the brides mother, and man did they come out perfect!

That’s right, we were contracted to photograph Laura’s brother, Matt, and his fiance Ilsa in Denver this month! We can’t think of a better compliment on our work, and are looking forward to this wedding!

I always love doing engagement sessions. They are a fabulous way for Ryan and I to get to know clients before their big day. More than that – its a great way for clients to become comfortable in front of our camera, and it lets them get to know us and our methods before the pressures of walking down the isle.

Hello and welcome to our new blog! Savannah Photography and Design has been in Colorado for the last 7 years. Most of that time was in Pueblo, but about a year ago we relocated to scenic Colorado Springs.
